ZÜRCHER OLYMP

Masks / Texts / Objects / Photography, Videography / Sound Art / Storytelling / Performance / New Ritus / Research / Mental Health meets immersive Artwork

ZÜRCHER OYLMP is an ongoing multidisciplinary Art Project. It evolves around the fictional mythology of the Gods of Üetliberg - an „ancient“ God-Family based on one of the main hills surrounding Zurich.

I initiated the project with various questions in mind. First of all - who owns history? Who is entitled to frame the past and therefore is able to influence and shape parts of the identity of citizens of certain regions and cultures of the world.
Although the Zürcher Olymp characters, masks and tales are fictional, they are deeply connected to the region of the Üetliberg and its spirits.

The various parts and steps of the projects always cite scientific proof / statistics and anthropological mechanisms in humorous ways. But still each of them is a meaningful piece of art. With each stage I explore new forms and mediums. The Zürcher Olymp is my vessel to create new layers and accociations around Questions of Identity.

THE AUDIOWALK IS AVAILABLE

Let loose, follow the guidance and wander through nature as if you are part of the stories which are told to you. Breath in. And out. Look twice. At the environment surrounding you.

This Audiowalk is designed as an invitation: to connect with nature and your inner voice. It’s a product of an ongoing research about the powerful combination of nature / art / sounds and their positive impacts on mental health. Questions which were arising during the process are: What could be new forms of healing? What could be new ways of prevention?

Participants described this Audio Walk as a sort of cleanse. They could disconnect from their daily business and experience the moment, the nowness. 35 Minutes of Storytelling and guidance is followed by a 10 Minute guided Ritual of worship and togetherness.

THE RITUAL

The last part of the Audio Walk is a Ritual. You are invited to be part of a big community, your voice will be one of many voices and connection is made. To honour nature and the Gods of Üetliberg each participant is asked to over a little gift (- no plastics!). All the pictures of the gifts are collected and form another layer of worship to this piece of immersive art.
